What it is
Individual therapy at ISDR is designed to be a supportive and empowering process. Our clinicians are committed to creating a non-judgmental space to help you explore your inner world and cultivate the psychological nutrients that promote flourishing.
ISDR uses Self-Determined Relationship Therapy (SDRT) as the foundation for much of our work, integrated with other approaches like ACT, IFS, CBT, and Narrative Therapy. The relationships it works on aren't only with a partner or family — they include the relationship you have with yourself, your identity, and the environments you live in. Unlike other approaches, SDRT explicitly aims to promote individual and relational development at the same time by supporting all three core psychological needs: feeling like your life and relationships are your own (Autonomy); feeling capable and effective in your relationships, at work, and in your life (Competence); and feeling truly seen and loved (Relatedness).
